Deciduous, upright clumping form with maroon midribs and silvery-white foliage that ages to a lovely light green. Very upright rigid habit gives this magnificent fern a beautiful formal appearance that really stands out in the shade garden. A stunning hybrid of Athyrium niponicum var. pictum (Japanese Painted Fern) and Athyrium filix-femina (Lady Fern). Height 24-30".
Prefers humusy, rich, medium moisture well drained soil. Tolerates more soil dryness then other ferns but do not allow to dry out. Gets the best silvery color from light shade. Deer and rabbit resistant.
