Tall variety with sturdy, deep purple-red stems and flower bracts with violet flowers. Leaves are 2″ long with a distinct spicy cinnamon flavor. An excellent variety for culinary use or for cut flowers. Height 24-28″.
Basil prefers consistently moist, rich soil and does not tolerate drought. To increase branching and leaf production, pinch back flower buds as they form. Harvest in early morning and store unwashed and refrigerated to avoid brown spots and wilting. Flowers are attractive to bees and make good cut flowers.
