A classic culinary variety that is sweeter than standard Genovese basil. Leaves are very large, reaching 4″ with a dimpled texture, toothed edges, and excellent sweet, anise flavor. The perfect basil for pastas and salads!
Basil prefers consistently moist, rich soil and does not tolerate drought. To increase branching and leaf production, pinch back flower buds as they form. Harvest in early morning and store unwashed and refrigerated to avoid brown spots and wilting. Flowers are attractive to bees and make good cut flowers.
