Heirloom variety brought to America from Calabria, Italy in the late 1800s. Produces deep green, rich flavored stalks 5-8″ in diameter over a long harvest season. After harvesting the central stalk, multiple side shoots will fill in to provide additional harvests for a longer growing season.
Broccoli is a cool season crop that grows best in the spring or fall. Prefers fertile, consistently moist, well-drained soil.
