Chinese cabbage has a more elongated form with a lighter and sweeter flavor than traditional head cabbage. Its inner leaves are pale yellow and white with the upper and outer leaves being crinkled and densely packed together. These 9″ heads are super crisp and great for stir fries, slaws, and more. Boasts disease and bolt resistance.
Cabbage is a cool season crop and should be planted for spring or fall seasons to avoid the heat of the summer which causes the plants to bolt. Partial shade in hot afternoon heat can help. Drought can also cause the plants to bolt. Prefers consistently moist, well drained soil rich in organic matter.
