Cabbage Tatsoi

Brassica rapa var. narinosa

A popular  and adorable green forming tidy rosettes of succulent mild flavored leaves filled with Vitamin C.

Similar in flavor to spinach with a smoother and more tender texture than Pak Choi, this small Asian green is a winner all around. The dark green, glossy, spoon-shaped leaves form a beautiful rosette around a central stem. Eat as you would Spinach, fresh in salads, added to soups, or lightly sautéed.

Cabbage is a cool season crop and should be planted for spring or fall seasons to avoid the heat of the summer which causes the plants to bolt. Partial shade in hot afternoon heat can help. Drought can also cause the plants to bolt. Prefers consistently moist, well drained soil rich in organic matter.
