Also known as “Chinese Chives,” this perennial herb has larger and flatter leaves than traditional chives. The delicate garlic flavor of the leaves is great in fresh savory dishes, as a garnish, or in preserves. In summer white blooms appear above the foliage that are also edible and attract pollinators and beneficial insects. Shear back after blooming season to promote new tender leaves. Prefer rich soil, high in organic matter.
