This deciduous fern forms outwardly arching, vase-like vase clumps around a narrow center. In spring, the fronds emerge as classic "fiddleheads," slowly uncurling to reveal their mature size and shape. Height 3-6'.
Prefers rich, consistently moist well drained soils. Do not allow to dry out. Tolerates clay soils and wet sites. Intolerant of heat and humidity. Deer and rabbit resistant.
