A must have spearmint variety for making the classic Southern Mint Juleps. The flavor is similar to spearmint but features extra large, rounded, textured foliage that look gorgeous in the garden as well as a garnish. Great for both fresh and dried use. White flowers appear in summer, and the plant benefits from a cutback after bloom to encourage new leafy growth.
Culinary mint can be an aggressive spreader in the garden. To prevent unwanted rhizomatous spread, plant in containers, or plant within contained soil areas in the garden. Prefers rich moist soil with good drainage.
