The authentic Cuban mint variety essential for the refreshing drink it’s named for. The flavor is more mild than Spearmint with a lovely citrusy zing. The large leaves are textured and easy to use fresh or dried in drinks, desserts, or savory dished. Violet flowers appear in summer, and the plant benefits from a cutback after bloom to encourage new leafy growth.
Culinary mint can be an aggressive spreader in the garden. To prevent unwanted rhizomatous spread, plant in containers, or plant within contained soil areas in the garden. Prefers rich moist soil with good drainage.
