An upright mound of light green fronds, interrupted by jet black partway up the stem. Height 2-3'.
Prefers fertile, humusy, consistently moist, slightly acidic well drained soil. Do not allow to dry out. Tolerates clay soils, full sun if grown in standing water and heavy shade. Deer and rabbit resistant.
