Large, open, cup-shaped, lavender-pink to white blooms, marked deep lavender-pink at the base with bright yellow stamens. Height 4-5′.
Paeonia attracts butterflies to the garden. Prefers fertile, medium moisture well drained soil. Paeonia suffruticosa is a deciduous woody shrub, no pruning is required except for dead wood and deadheading spent flowers. Tolerant of heat. Deer and rabbit resistant.
