An erect stemmed and narrow clump of green foliage tinged with red all reason long turning dark tan in the fall with a profusion of finely textured, airy pinkish burgundy flower panicles. Height 4-5′.
Panicum attracts birds and butterflies to the garden. Prefers average, medium to wet soils. Drought tolerant when established. Tolerates air pollution, clay soils, dry soils, occasional flooding and sandy soils. Warm season grass.
