Pink to purple snapdragon like flowers with purple strips and white throats on dark stems. Height 1-2'.
Penstemon attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds to the garden. Prefers dry to moist, fertile soils. Drought tolerate when established. Tolerate of most soil conditions. Will reseed in the garden since P. smallii is short lived. Deer resistant.
