Whorls of canary yellow, hooded blooms cover the tops of the plants with lovely textured, wooly, gray-green leaves. Although the evergreen foliage dies back in zone 7 winters, the roots typically survive and begin anew each spring. Height 2-4′.
Phlomis attracts bees, birds and butterflies to the garden. Prefers fertile, dry to medium well drained soil. Drought tolerate when established. Deadhead to promote new buds. Deer and rabbit resistant.
