Rhus aromatica ‘Gro-Low’ (Dwarf Fragrant Sumac)

Vigorous, low-growing  groundcover shrub that is excellent for stabilizing a bank or smothering weeds. The leaves and bark are aromatic when bruised, giving rise to its name. This dense shrub produces small yellow flowers and downy red fruits amongst glossy green foliage that changes to a lovely orange-red in fall. Height 1-2’.

Rhus attracts birds and butterflies to the garden. Prefers average, dry to medium well drained soil. Drought tolerant when established. Tolerates erosion and a wide range of soils. Intolerant of poorly drained soils. Deer and rabbit resistant.
