Ruellia attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds to the garden. Prefers average, dry to medium moisture well drained soil. Drought tolerate when established. Tolerant of dry, rocky soils.  Will reseed in the garden up to 10' away. Deer and rabbit resistant.
