Silene caroliniana (Wild Pink)

Mounds of lance shaped green leaves topped by an abundance of rosy pink 5 petaled blooms that resemble those of phlox. Height 10-12".

Silene attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds to the garden. Prefers average, dry to medium, sandy well drained soil. Drought tolerant when established. Intolerant of wet, poorly drained soil.
