Towering flower stalks adorned with yellow disc-like blooms. Basal leaves are rough textured and reach up to 18″ long, adding textural interest to the garden. Silphium attracts birds, bees, and butterflies to the garden. Prefers average, dry to medium well drained soil. Drought tolerate when established. Tolerates poor soils. Height 3-10′.
