Arching stems feature alternate leaves with noticeably parallel veins. Clusters of tiny ivory flowers bloom in plumes at the terminal ends of stems followed by green berries that age to red by the end of summer. Height 24-36″.
Smilacina attracts bees and birds to the garden. Prefers medium to moist, fertile, loamy well drained soil. Tolerates sandy and rocky soils. Intolerant of heat and sunny locations. Deer resistant.
