Leaves form a basal rosette of 8″ long arrowhead shaped leaves. Leaves have a strong, tangy, lemony flavor and are best harvested at 3-4″ before the flavor becomes too strong. Wonderful as a zingy accent to salads or added to soups and fish dishes. Flowers emerge in mid summer that age to a lovely red shade, but are best kept cut back if using leaves for culinary purposes.
Sorrel prefers well-drained soils.
